Club Soda was a short walk from our hotel, Neptune House, and one of the few bars/restaurants open since our holiday was two weeks before summer opening season. We found the staff to be very friendly. The beer selection was good. The menu is small but quite fine for bar food. We actually loved the crazy fries with cheese. We had a pizza that I'd rate very good (not wood fired or gourmet, but loaded up with cheese and black olives), and we also had the brownie sundae which was also very good. I'd go back for beer and fries/pizza anytime. On weekends, they have live music.

DO NOT COME HERE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES...well, unless you are faced with the choice to either get jabbed in the eye with a fish hook or go to Club Soda; only then should you choose the latter. My boyfriend and I are annual visitors to Block Island. We like dive bars and usually go to Poor People's Pub, but decided to try something new and find a more local bar that's off the beaten path. So, we ventured over to Club Soda. BIG MISTAKE. Club Soda's bartender was alright. He wasn't super friendly, but he did his job and poured us generous drinks. The problem is, the regulars who come here are extremely judgmental and oooohhh how best to say it...ignorant? uneducated? closed-minded? just plain painful? I'm Asian. My boyfriend's white and has geled hair and gold chains. We came in, sat down, ordered our drinks, and minded our own business. We didn't bother anyone, including the people who were playing pool across the bar. However, while we were leaving, one of the (cowardly) regulars who was playing pool shouted out at us "Wrong bar!!" And he was sober too. Well, Mr. King-of-Block-Island-Who-Dictates-Who-Belongs-And-Who-Doesn't, the last time I checked, we're in 2015, and our money's green like everyone else's, including yours. And if it weren't for "Non-Belongers" like me, Block Island's budget would be severely impacted. And do you know what also happens when "Non-Belongers" like me stay on "our side"? Well, then there's not as much activity on Block Island, and when there's not as much activity, then businesses close down, and when businesses close down, jobs are lost, and when jobs are lost, houses are lost, etc. You get the picture (or do you, given your ignorance and density?). You should probably also invest in some courage pills to take 3x a day everyday...you can't just say "Wrong bar!!" as a Non-Belonger leaves...that's being a chicken, and since you're a king, you can't be a chicken. Your highness, you and your friends at the pool table keep it up and one day one of the Non-Belongers like me will come along, not like what you say, and decide to buy up Club Soda in cash, kick you guys out, and rename the place "Wrong Bar!!" :)

Definitely more of a bar than restaurant, but with a full pub-food menu (burgers, BBQ, pizza etc) so kid friendly at least for dinner. Reasonable prices for both food and drinks. Low key atmosphere, more of a locals crowd and not touristy, very different from the bars/restaurants closer to the beach. We had dinner with 3 kids and the food was very good -- everyone liked their choices -- pizza, fried chicken, chicken caesar salad and Philly cheese steak. We would definitely go back next summer!

Looking for a bar away from those catered towards tourists and seeking great bbq? This place can be categorized as a dive bar but has a great unpretentious appeal. Learned that the owner got a competition smoker from Tennessee to add bbq to their menu. Can attest from our large group of friends that the bbq was fantastic! The meat on the baby back ribs just fell off the bone. Sauce and flavor were great. The briskets and pulled pork were great, too. We asked for 2 dozen wings with buffalo & barbecue sauce mixed. Another home run. My group of friends are a "lively" bunch but the people were friendly enough. Needed that walk back to town to walk off the full belly.

We were in Block Island for a week, rented two houses. Club Soda was between the two houses. I thought I'd died and gone to heaven. This is Block Island Bliss. Marty and Rick, owners, are welcoming and hospitable to the party the run every day. Which day is the best? I wanted to say Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday and Sunday, but the website on yelp wouldn't let me do this. The food is excellent. The bar is classic, there is e ring game , pool, foosball and music. Good company! Beautiful people live on Block Island. Their motto is "we're all here cause we' re not all there" A well kept secret from the tourists. Shhh!

I would consider this more of a locals bar. This bar is located off the beaten path away from the more well-known bars on the Island. There is not much to say except that this place had good drinks, and good bartenders. The bartender actually took the time to make recommendations to satisfy my wife's cousin's taste buds. The drink prices here are reasonable. It was open-mic night on the night of my visited but the noise was still at a real comfortable level, during and in between sets. I really don't like places where I can't hear myself think, or need to shout to the person next to me. We thought we were going to go in for a few drinks and leave, but we there longer than expected and it was $7 pizza night. Come on...you know I had to do it. One large pie with two toppings came to $10 and change. How good can this pizza be? Now I am thinking it has to be a frozen pizza at that price, but none the less the pizza was not bad, no it was better than not bad, it was pretty darn good. For $7 I was expecting Ellios!! Good Food, Good drinks, Good Bar

Bad pizza. I have never used this phrase before and I hope I never will again. It lacked enough sauce and the cheese was monotone. I swear to god they used breaded chicken fingers as a topping too on The Beast (the meat pizza). That out of the way, I would drink here regularly without hesitation. The crowd was low key, locals and there was great music. Good beer section with lots of East coast beers featured. I suspect the "pub food" would be better than the pizza. Wait staff was wonderful and charming. Had a brownie Sunday and it was the size of my head; perfect to split with four people.

Good local dive right down the block from the home we rented. We walked back in the dark, and man it was dark and it was scary- like the beginning of every horror movie. Free pool, fuseball, arcade games. Couldn't figure out why the dart board is behind an arcade game. The bartender is chatty, and good. The patrons seem to all be locals. Some strange folks there the night we went, let me tell you. But that is part of the fun. When you get tired of the tourist traps on the island, come check out this local's hangout.

Fun times. Excellent fries. Good prices for the island. The chicken parm sub was tasty. Mudslide was also good, good selection of beer. Tons of games - pool, bumper pool, foosball, ring-throw game, pinball. Nice juke box.

Ended up here after reading the reviews....I visited off season for the island so not many places were open yet... The inside is small and rustic, nothing but tall tables and chairs and a few bar seats. Pool tables etc. We were there on pool league night so all the tables were in use by the league which was fine. The menu is small and consists of burgers/wings/pizza and a few other things. They did have some interesting specials the night we were in BUT as they were read so fast, i couldn't recall one thing that was on special that day so just ordered a burger off the menu. The burger was fine, the bun could have been toasted a bit more but you can get what you wanted on so it met my expectations. The fries are hand cut but not cooked well so I found them soggy and a bit burnt...not crisp and yummy. We both had a house special drink that was on mix of long island ice tea meets electric lemonade, a bit sour but but tasty none the less.

My cousins and our kids met up here for an early dinner, glad we did! The food was great! Buffalo wings were perfect ( and we're from Buffalo), stuffed blue cheese burger was amazing!! Plenty to do like pool and foosball and tv's so the kids kept busy so we could visit and relax no pressure to get up and go. Also a nice short bike ride from town.

Local club, off the beaten path. Divey but great relaxed atmosphere. Food is good, drink prices are better than in town. Very good value.

First things first: It is a local island bar with pub food. It's not a fast food place so you will not get your food fast. Now on to what you will get: colorful locals. good beer selection excellent excellent fries. (did i say OMG excellent?) good prices. specials owner tending bar made to order food. . . so you wait a while for a real cheeseburger that leaves you wantint to come back. . it's worth the wait and besides you are on block island--where else do you need to be 'right away'. kid friendly area away from bar pool table juke box but not too loud. good pizza--probably best on island i think i could say more but you get the jist------- i love this place. i frequent it often and i never leave there unhappy. but if you are in a hurry sort of person it will not work out for you. so sit down, grab a beer and relax.

Fun little dive with games, food, and outdoor seating. I found the service to be a little slow for a moderately crowded bar, but only thing you can do is wait. If you feel like going to a down to earth bar... this is a good one!

I dig this place. It has a couple pool tables, a foosball table, and has live music. Oh, and it's off the beaten path and very unassuming...the kind of place you drive by at 10am and say "No, we weren't drinking there last night, were we?" For those of you who have been to Joe's Twin Villa (RIP), you know what I mean.

This is my favorite bar on the Island. I stayed and worked on the Island the summer of 2009. I now live in California and am craving a Club Soda burger and fries like crazy!!!! And the Karaoke night is great too... :)
